Giving back to your community, your school, your Alma Mater demonstrates pride. It shows a commitment and an investment that you can call your own. Your gift will be put back in to the schools through grants, student scholarships, educational enhancements, and other innovative needs of the District.
MEF has participated in this community, 12-hour, annual day of giving for the last six years. Benefactors must give on-line between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. This year there is a $400,000 Prorated Sponsor Match AND you can give your gift by check! Checks must be received nu the Erie Community Foundation by the day before Erie Gives Day to be included in the match. The more gifts we receive, the greater the match! FREE before school, girls only, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) hands-on, interactive program. Students are introduced to women mentors working in the field and participate in activities. This is a “Make and Take” experience with the idea that each student will make something, take it with them to show their peers, their family, and others. This is an empowering tool to encourage creativity and participation.
The program is held in the 5 Millcreek Township School District elementary schools (Asbury, Belle Valley, Chestnut Hill, Grandview, Tracy). It has a two-fold purpose - to engage young women in the possibilities of STEAM and to get essential equipment and supplies into the schools so all students benefit. The PTA’s at each school are instrumental in providing the volunteers to make this program a success.
